VEHICLE INTO FLOOD WATERS ON I-59

At approximately 1:24pm on Thursday, January 10, 2013, units from St. Tammay Fire Protection District No. 11 responded to I-59 southbound near mile marker 4 for a single vehicles accident.

Upon arrival, personnel found a pick up truck nearly submerged in the floodwaters along the tree line off the houlder of the interstate. Fortunately the adult male was able to escape from the window of his vehicle and retreat to safety along the shoulder. It appears that the driver was unharmed in the incident.
